He's not home today, because he went to Hokkaido for a job,
so today I'm chilling at my parents' house again
And tonight my mom and I are cooking dinner together
Tonight we're using this little guy
Potatoes
We took these potatoes and blanched[/parboiled] them,
(It's okay if you nuke them in the microwave, or if you boil them~)
and when they were soft,
we mashed them,
put in some bacon,
put in some corn,
added some salt and pepper,
put in some mayonnaise,
then took a handful and rolled it up in a gyouza skin
Then, we closed it with a fork
(It's also alright to use the normal way of folding up gyouza)
Non's look like this
We repeated this to make a whole bunch of them
Then,
we put them in oil at 160° (Celsius),
and deep-fried them
When they'd gotten to be a nice, golden-brown color......
All done~
Don't they look tasty?
They're even tastier if you put in some melted cheese too
Out of all the things my mom cooks, this is one of my top three favorites
You guys should definitely, definitely give it a try
We had a lot of other dishes for dinner too, so I'll post again in a bit, okay~~~
So stay tuned~

Seriously, though, I don't understand why the Japanese feel the need to put corn and mayonnaise on everything...>_<
I *am* gonna have to try that fork technique the next time I make guotie, though
Corn = delicious. I'm gonna nix the bacon and totally make those guys for dinner... sometime soon.
Corn is tasty, yes. But it's not something I want to eat in my gyouza, pizza, curry, ice cream, etc. XD
Omg that looks soo amazing! I think I am going to attempt to make this soon. But I don't have a deep fryer D: ...must add more bacon though mmm oiishi. -.-; Means I can't make friday then bugger.
