Today has been a really fun Hina Matsuri~~~
We hung out at my parents' house and had just a really enjoyable day today~~~
My sister and nephew came too,
and things were really lively
I also got a shot of me and my sister, just the two of us [lit. "two shot"], which we hadn't done in a while
And on the menu tonight......
First off,
Noa & Kaito had this~~~
From the front.........
it looked like this
Do they look like the Emperor and Empress, do you think?
I worked really hard to make them
And for the grown-ups...
TA-DA!
First, was
Chirashizushi (toppings scattered over a bed of sushi rice)
[note: a typical Hina Matsuri food]
and
Tori no karaage (deep-fried chicken)
and
Clam soup
[note: clams also have a symbolic meaning and association with the Hina Matsuri]
and, and,
Nanohana no ohitashi (rapeseed blossoms, boiled then chilled and served with soy sauce)
and
Agenasu no otsumami (deep-fried eggplant hors d'oeuvers?)
and
Hina Matsuri doll-patterned kamaboko (steamed fish paste)
And that's everything~~~
We had all this food...............but everyone together did a beautiful job of finishing it all~~~
Food is really delicious when you eat it together, y'know~~~
And eating so much delicious food, we pray for Noa-tan to spend this next year happy and healthy.........
Today turned out to be a really wonderful Hina Matsuri...
And tomorrow is the day that Noa's daddy finally comes back home
I'm really looking forward to being able to see him again at last
Daddy,
Noa really misses you too, so
hang in there just a little longer~
