Today is the birthday party for Non's daddy






We hung decorations,











and we were all standing by...





When Daddy came home, he was so surprised & self-conscious that he almost couldn't come inside






Daddy is surprisingly shy and easily embarrased





But it was a big success~




And,





the food we had for the party...










looked like this




Chikuzenni (a simmered chicken and vegetable dish, see here)

Karaage no mizore ankake (deep-fried chicken in a thick sauce with shredded daikon)

Ebichiri (Japanese adaptation of a Sichuan dish of stir-fried shrimp in chili sauce)









Boiled squid









Edamame & soramame (fava beans)









and, and



Sushiiiiii










This is my second day of sushi in a row




There was *so* much.........




I really savored them




And the birthday cake for Daddy









Because he's Noa's grandpa......

"Grandpa"


is what we got written on it









And,



the present that Noa, Noa's daddy, and I gave him




TA-DA!









an Adidas tracksuit




He tried it on right away
[note: there seems to be a typo here; I think she means to have written 着て ('kite'), a conjugation of the verb "to wear/put on," rather than 来て ('kite'), a conjugation of the verb "to come"]




Got a bit of tummy paunch, but...



Daddy,




the tracksuit looks really good on you~



He seemed to really like it, so I was happy



I got a shot of me, him (in the tracksuit), and Noa










Sorry...because of my allergies, I couldn't open my eyes properly...




Before now I'd always been busy with work, and hadn't really been able to do much for people's birthdays,




so being able to have the family together and celebrate with everyone like this makes me really happy





Seeing my daddy's happy face...



Being able to wish him a happy birthday...




...made me really happy




I hope you continue to be your cheerful, energetic, kind, wonderful self~




as Non's daddy,




and as Noa's grandpa




But please do take care of yourself physically, okay?



Lately...your stomach.........




has started to get a bit of a bulge, y'know............




There's nothing that would make me happier than you staying healthy




So you should cut back a little on the amount you drink, y'know?
