This morning...
DINGDONG!
...a package arrived~〃
I wonder what it is
When I opened it up..............................
TA-DA!
...there was another box inside
If you look on the side of this box, it says
Taiyou no Okurimono
[note: that is, "Taiyou's Present"/"Gift from the Sun"]
And what was inside...?
TA-DA!
Baumkuchen
Because it's made with kodawari tamago (select eggs), it has this rich orange color
[note: 'kodawari tamago' seem to be a type? brand? of especially nutritious egg with very deep orange yolks; the name comes from the fact that they seem to have quite stringent quality requirements]
Isn't it wonderful?
And the taste, too...
TA-DA!
The Baumkuchen also has powdered mulberry fruit in in
Which is apparantly crazy good for you〃
Because it was really tasty, we ate the whole cake up in a jiff
But wait,
there's more!
Next we have this~~
Yet another box
Look, look,
'No'
[note: that is, "希"; literally it means "rare" or "hope/wish/desire"]
Continuing from the "Taiyou" present, this "No"......................
...is the first character of "Nozomi" (希美) and "Noa" (希空)
It seems like a coincidence
Incredible
Inside the 'No' box was....................................
this!!
Castella
This castella is also made with kodawari tamago
On the bottom of it.........
there's lots and lots of zarame (coarse sugar)〃
............Amazing!
I love zarame
And, and,
one more thing!
This~~
TA-DA!
Tamago bolo (a kind of tiny round cookies)
which use kodawari tamago too
Noa-tan loves these
She ate so many of them
These bolo just melt in your mouth right away
They're crazy delicious
All these presents we got today were from my mother-in-law
Mama-san, thanks so much for everything!〃
We'll gladly enjoy them
We had the Baumkuchen for breakfast this morning
In the end, our tummies were quite full
It was delicious
