Right now I'm working on preparing the fish-san that my daddy was nice enough to clean and cut for me〃
First up,
the octopus!
Look at this!
The suction cups can still suck
That's what you get when it's really fresh, huh~
But still, I'm a little scared of eating it raw, so I decided that............
Tako no karaage (deep-fried octopus)
would be the way to go~~
And then we have
the tai (sea bream)!
Just with the tai...
[note: since it's in kana, another way to interpret what she writes here is as "with the tai meat" (that is, as 'tai no mi' rather than 'tai nomi'), however, since she uses the kanji later when she's talking about the tai "meat," I thought the other interpretation was more likely here]
I decided to coat the pieces with salt and potato starch...
and prepare some katsuo dashi (dashi soup stock made with bonito flakes)...
It's still only partway done, but
TA-DA!
Suimono (a clear soup)
is what I'm making here~~
And
there's still a lot more tai
I took the head and scrap pieces from the tai, along with.....................
[note: "scrap pieces" is my best guess for 'mi no mawari no bubun' (実の周りの部分..."実" is probably more properly "身" "flesh")]
Ginger
Dashi soup stock
Soy sauce
Mirin
Saké
Sugar
and put them all in a pot and let it simmer thoroughly
I put in daikon, too~〃
And,
with these bits of tai,
TA-DA!
Taimeshi (a dish of sea bream and rice)
is what I decided to make〃
I hope it'll turn out good~~~
And finally,
there's the sole
When it comes to sole, it's got to be *that* dish, right?
Right now,
I'm making the tartar sauce
Well,
I'll post around dinnertime with what it all looks like finished, okay?〃
Ah~ But even with all that...I finished the preparations for dinner tonight...a little early, maybe...
It's only 4 o'clock...
Well, since the dinner prep is complete,
and I'm not working today,
I think I'm going to just hang out with Noa-tan for a while
But............
Mommy's hands............
smell all fishy...................................................
[note: in this line and the next, she writes 'kuchai,' a cuter way to say 'kusai' ("stinky")]
I even got an..."Eww, stinky"
from Noa...
But I worked really hard making everything, so I really hope that her daddy will tell me it tastes delicious at least~~
I'm really looking forward...
to it all being finished~~
