After I got home from work yesterday,

we had a little party to celebrate Noa-tan turning one-and-a-half!!

[note: it reads, "Noa -- congratulations on turning one-and-a-half years old"]
Her daddy bought this cheesecake

and we stuck in some candles, lit them,

and had our little celebration!!

Because I had to work yesterday, I wasn't able to really make a proper meal, but...

before going to work I did make a couple of really simple dishes:

gyuusuji nikomi (stewed beef tendon) and

chicken karaage (deep-fried chicken bits)!!

And Noa's daddy made mentaiko itame (spicy pollock roe stirfry) with carrot and shirataki (thin, translucent konjac noodles)

And we also had...

TA-DA!

Oh, sushi is so tasty!

[note: the line is 'o-sushi wa umashi,' which has a fun sort of flow and almost rhyming feel to it; it also uses an antiquated adjective inflection ('umashi' instead of 'umai' -- "tasty"), which is why I put in "Oh" there at the beginning (and it doesn't hurt that this mirrors the sound of the original)]
And it'd been ages since I'd last had any~

And when we put everything all together,

our dinner looked like this~~

The three of us raised our glasses in a toast...

and enjoyed a delicious meal together as a family

Once again...Noa-tan,

you're now one and a half years old!

Congratulations!!

And I'm so grateful that you were born nice and healthy

And, and...

I want you to keep growing up really big and strong, okay~!

And I truly...

I truly thank you...for bringing me such happiness, always

I love you!!

............

Well then,

let's go out there and give it our bestest again today~!
