Today our family went out for a picnic
The weather's SUPER nice~
Today Non drove us
down to Yoyogi Park
It was already afternoon, so we were pretty hungry,
and so as soon as we arrived, we had lunch
Lunch looked like this~
It was really just a simple lunch made out of yesterday's leftovers and stuff we had in the house, but..
whenever you eat lunch outside, it's really delicious
It's totally different from eating at home, or eating in restaurants, y'know?
It made me feel really happy
Incidentally,
this tamagoyaki (a kind of rectangular omelet-like food) was made by Noa's daddy
So pretty, huh?
Tamagoyaki is the food that he's best at making
It's been a long time since I last ate it, but it's really tasty
He's really great at making tamagoyaki
Better than Non is, I think
Thanks, honey
[note: what she actually calls him is 'Papa' "Daddy"]
Then,
we staked out a spot and spread out the sheet
Well, I mean, it wasn't quite "staking out a spot," but...
even though it was a weekday, there were lots of families, couples, and students out for lunchtime
On nice days, everyone likes to have lunch outside, I guess, huh?
Well... even with that, I'm so glad the weather was nice~~~
In the park...
there were a whole bunch of puppies...
[note: that is, 'wan-chan,' so "puppies" in the cutesy sense rather than the literal sense]
Noa-tan was very intrigued
She was transfixed by all the puppies walking this way and that...
But Noa-tan was a little afraid of them, so she couldn't actually go up and pet them............
So she kept just saying...
"Wan-wan! Wan-wan!"
[note: this can mean either the sound a dog makes ("woof-woof"/"bow wow") or a baby-talk word for dog ("puppy")]
while gazing intently from a distance...
This was really kinda cute though
And,
as we were tromping along.........
we discovered this!
A big lake with a big fountain in it
Once again, Noa-tan was fascinated
She jumped around, shrieking and giggling to broadcast her excitement
So cute~
I thought, as I watched her, when suddenly............
for some reason............
She sat down quietly in front of the lake
In this picture she's just gazing out at it
So cute!
I know I'm a doting parent, but...
she is really cute
Unnoticed, I came up behind her and grabbed her up in a big hug
Besides this, we also blew bubbles, tossed a ball around...
and just played a whole bunch~~~
Noa also seemed really happy, so that was good~
Finally spending the whole day with just the family all together again...
turned out to be an incredibly carefree, happy little holiday
Noa really didn't seem to want to go back home, but since the wind was getting colder, we had to say good-bye to the park...
and head back home
Well, now I've got to hurry and start getting dinner ready
What should we have...?
Nabe (hot pot), perhaps~
